Interface for HA checks went down

Hi, i've go a question for you,in HA-mode, what if one of the interface (the one that linked these 2 KEMP appliance) went down? Is there any way to get notification from the systems? because we have tried it in our VM (we used VLM-100), it didn't gave us a warning or something like that when we disconnect that interface. so we never know if our configuration system (for HA-mode) is not working
